"The dedication, progress, and education of our students embody the Ilia-like path toward building a peaceful, successful, and prosperous future for our homeland" said Aleksandre Tsuladze, Georgia's Minister of Education, Science, and Youth Affairs, during his speech in Kvareli at the Iliaoba 2024 celebration.

The traditional public event, held in Kvareli to honour the 187th anniversary of Ilia Chavchavadze's birth, was attended by notable figures, including Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Speaker of Parliament Shalva Papuashvili, and Minister Alexander Tsuladze.

During the event, Tsuladze addressed the audience, which included distinguished students and teachers from the Kvareli municipality. He highlighted Ilia Chavchavadze’s extraordinary contributions to Georgian culture and national consciousness.

Mr. Tsuladze remarked:
"November 8 is a significant day for all Georgians and patriots. Today, we celebrate the birth of one of our country’s greatest figures, Ilia Chavchavadze, 187 years ago. His contribution to shaping Georgian national identity is immeasurable. His body of work spanned poetry, prose, literary criticism, sociology, economics, agriculture, finance, and law. There was no major cultural or educational initiative in which Ilia Chavchavadze was not a leader, initiator, or active participant.

To the students present, you represent the future of Georgia. We will spare no effort to provide you with a robust education, empowering you to use your knowledge for the benefit of our homeland."

The event also brought together members of Georgia's executive, legislative, and local authorities, along with clergy, to honour the legacy of Ilia Chavchavadze and celebrate his enduring impact on Georgian society.
