Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini, Minister of Education of Azerbaijan, Misir Mardanov and Governor of Kvemo Kartli, David Kirkitadze visited Gardabani Public School №3 and congratulated the schoolchildren on the beginning of the school year in the renovated environment. On the same day, Minister of Education of Azerbaijan and Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Nodar Surguladze visited Dmanisi Public School №2.

From now on, around 1,000 schoolchildren of Gardabani Public School №3 and Dmanisi Public School №2 will study in the schools that comply with the modern standards. Both schools were fully rehabilitated with the financial support of the Foundation of Geidar Aliev. In the previous year, partial rehabilitation was carried out in Gardabani Public School №3 in the scope of the President’s National Program “Iakob Gogebashvili – Rehabilitation of the Public Schools”. Roof was repaired; windows, doors and the heating system were changed. Similar works were held in Dmanisi Public School №2 with the support of the Foundation of Aliev. Both schools were fully renovated and modernly equipped. The gym and stadium, as well as the canteen were refurbished. Taps were repaired. The schools have their own water reservoirs.

The partial rehabilitation was held in 33 public schools of Kvemo Kartli by the Education and Science Infrastructure Development Agency of MES. The modern heating system was installed in two schools. By the financial support of the Foundation of Geidar Aliev, one school was built in 2009-2010 and seven schools were fully rehabilitated.
