By the initiative of the President of Georgia, dance classes will be introduced in schools. In the scope of this initiative, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Koka Seperteladze held a first working meeting with such professionals as are the Heads of the ensemble of Georgian National Ballet “Sukhishvili”, National Academic ensemble “Erisioni”, ensemble “Rustavi” and other famous representatives of National Ballet and solo performers.
Participants of the meeting discussed the forms of introducing the dance classes, managing the teaching process, teachers and resources. Opinions of the professionals should be considered in these details.
Consultations about introducing the new subjects will be still held in the future. Experts of the National Curriculum and Assessment Center, stakeholders as well as professionals will be involved in the working process. Competent opinions will be considered.
Theoretical and practical courses of Georgian dances as well as National dances of the different countries will be introduced at schools. This innovation will be piloted in several schools and afterwards developed in all schools.
