Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini and Chief Ambassador of Culture and Communication Division of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, Vernen Vnendt spoke about deepening cooperation between the two countries in the education field.

It was noted at the meeting in MES that “Twinning project – Strengthening the Opportunities in Georgia for Implementing the Tasks of Bologna Process” has been operating since 2009. It is aimed for involving Georgia in higher education European area. German partners of the project are Federal Ministry of Education and Research, International Pedagogic Center and German Academic Exchange Service.

In the scope of the Twinning project, exchange programs between the two countries are being actively implemented. 92 Georgian young scientists and Assistant Professors of higher educational institutions left for Germany in 2010-2011. They will study in different Universities and Research centers.

“Germany is one of the main partners in the education field. It invests in the Georgian education that reflects, Georgia presents the full member of an international education area” – noted the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini.

One more example of cooperation is establishment of Tbilisi German International School.  Diploma of this school will be internationally recognized.
