Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini and Chairman of the Trade Unions of Georgia, Irakli Petriashvili met the Members of Educators and Scientists Free Trade Union of Georgia.
Minister congratulated around 100 teachers on the Teachers’ International Day and introduced the report on the current education reforms to them.
MES permanently holds meetings with the representatives of society, NGOs, Public Board and Advisory Board operating under MES. “Involvement of the society in the reforms is very important and Educators and Scientists Free Trade Union of Georgia presents one of the most important parts” – noted Dimitri Shashkini.
Minister of Education and Science of Georgia spoke about the new National Curriculum, new subjects, new assessment system, Safe School concept and other important innovations. Dimitri Shashkini also introduced 2010-2015 strategy of MES.
By the announcement of the Chairman of the Trade Unions of Georgia, Irakli Petriashvili, cooperation of MES and professional unions is very important. Involvement of teachers and professional unions in the reforms means striving for the results.
Minister answered the questions of the teachers at the meeting.
