Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini arranged a two-day seminar for journalists in Bazaleti Touristic Complex. The main goal of the seminar was to introduce new inititiaves in general education for 2010-2011.
Dimitri Shashkini broadely discussed the goals and initiatives of the Ministry for the next two years.
The meeting went in a question-response format and journalists received answers to all their questions directly from the Minister of Education and Science.
Within the framework of the event, Head of National Examinations Center Maia Miminoshvili, Head of National Curriculum and Assessment Center Natia Jokhadze, as well as Head of Teachers Professional Development Center Sophia Gorgodze (under the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia) presented their activities to the journalists, introduced their future plans and also responded to questions of journalists.
The meeting was organized with support of the UNICEF and aimed at increasing the transparency of an education reform process through promoting broad public discussions over this reform.
