Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini and Public Defender of Georgia, George Tugushi awarded the winners of the competition Me as an Ombudsman.
The competition was organized by an Ombudsman of Georgia and schoolchildren of 13-18 ages took part in it. The competition is designed to advance the civic education level in youth. It was held with the support of MES. EU funded project Support to Public Defender’s Office provided the financial support.
The competition was based on the network technologies and it was implemented through the internet. By the order of the Public Defender, in April-May, 2010, company Pixel created special program module being integrated into the web-site of Public Defender in order to hold the competition.
2,100 schoolchildren of 700 groups took part in the competition. 10 teams participated in the final round. Finally, three teams were identified out of ten.
Ann Kldiashvili and Irena Babunashvili took the first place.
Meri Chachava and Mari Kukhianidze took the second place and Irma Chighladze and Gvantsa Tsukhisvili - the third place.
