New school was constructed in the village of Mleta. Minister of Education and Science of Georgia visited newly opened school and donated literature to the school library.
“One of the main priorities of MES is to advance school infrastructure and build the new schools that comply with the modern standards. All schoolchildren should have opportunity to receive education in the refurbished and modern schools. MES actively works on these issues” – announced Dimitri Shashkini.
Construction works began in June in the village of Mleta. Considering the local climate, the school was built with the wooden material that creates the best condition for thermo isolation. School that is constructed for 80 schoolchildren is provided with the refurbished gym and computer class.
The first graders of Mleta School were provided with the netbooks in the scope of the President’s program. Education games are uploaded in these computers. The schoolchildren are able to visit the web-site www.buki.ge and get familiarized with the different literature.
As the 19th century school of Mleta was damaged, building of the new school was decided. Only one public school operates in Mleta under the patronage of the First Lady of Georgia, Sandra Elizabeth Reolofs.
Construction of 10 schools is underway throughout Georgia. 6 of these schools are funded by the World Bank.
