First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Koka Sepherteladze got familiarized with the physics lesson of the 12th graders in the scope of “Abituri” hours at Public School №1. Deputy Minister introduced new CAT exam model to the schoolchildren. High School exams will be held with the new CAT model for the first time in Georgia. Koka Sepherteladze answered the schoolchildren’s questions on the coming High School exams.

In regard with the 2010-2011 High School exams, so called “Abituri” hours for the 12th graders of general educational institutions were included in schedule. “Abituri” hours are included in the National Curriculum and it envisages repeating the covered material.

“Abituri” hours will be given in all subjects, the schoolchildren will pass during the High School exams. These are the following subjects: Georgian Language and Literature (Georgian as the second language for non-Georgian schools), mathematics, foreign language, history of Georgia and the world history, geography, physics, chemistry and biology.

“Abituri” hours give the schoolchildren opportunity to repeat the covered material and get better prepared for High School exams.
Giving “Abituri” hours in the subjects that are not taught in the 12th form is particularly important. These subjects are: geography, biology and physics. The schoolchildren do not receive scores during “Abituri” hours. These lessons help the schoolchildren to repeat the covered material and tasks.
For the first time in Georgia, High School exams will be held though the computer, with the so called CAT exam model. Exam will be held in all general educational institutions on the same day.
