International Seminar Dedicated to the Teachers’ Professional Development

On November 18-20, workshop on Teachers’ Permanent Professional Development and Connection with the Career Growth is being held in Georgia. Participants of the seminar are able:

  • To get familiarized with European models of teachers’ professional development;
  • Get familiarized with teachers’, inductees’, mentors’ professional development and career growth process;
  • Sharing of knowledge and practice concerning above mentioned issues with Georgian and foreign experts;
  • Take part in the development of the strategy of teachers’ professional development scheme.

Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini attended an international workshop. According to the Minister, achievement of the education system depends on teachers’ professionalism and sharing the best practice is essential for teachers’ professional development.

The seminar is being held in the scope of an international program Pestalozzi. Pestalozzi is the training program of education actors that is implemented by the Council of Europe, in the scope of European Culture convention.

According to the program, representatives of education sector and teachers have opportunity to participate in the seminars, organized in the frame of Pestalozzi. Sharing of intercultural experience of the Council of Europe, information, materials and innovative practice is offered at the seminars.

Therefore, topics of the seminars will be defined according to the priority projects of the Council of Europe. These are the following priorities: role of education in the formation of civil society, human rights, intercultural dialogue and conflict solving, gender balance in the school environment and etc.
