The booklet “Inclusive Education – Auto Portraits of the Children With Special Needs” is the small collection of notes, poetry and stories of the Children With Special Needs of the Public School №198. Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini attended the presentation of the pamphlet. The booklet was published by the National Curriculum and Assessment Center of MES in cooperation with the British Council.
The booklet of the Children With Special Needs was published for the first time in Georgia. Dimitri Shashkini called publishing of the booklet as the significant fact and noted that introducing the autistic children to the society will assist public to get familiarized with the interest ad opportunities of them.
The main topic of the event was: Appreciate My Tale. Works of the children reflect their ideas as these children have problems of social communication.
150 children study in Tbilisi Public School №198. 10% of them are vulnerable and the remained 90% Children With Special Needs. Most of them have problems of social, emotional communication or complex of disabilities. They are not able to maintain psychical stability, negotiate with peers and elders. Therefore, school multidiscipline team has developed the teaching plan for the individual development of each child. Monitoring is permanently held in order to implement the plan and evaluate results.
Caring for the Children with Special Needs is the priority of MES.
