The Minister Responded to Prime Minister’s Initiative

The Prime Minister of Georgia Nika Gilauri proposed an initiative that the officials of public institutions should report to the public on the ongoing activities and future plans. Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini responded to this initiative and introduced new developments, outcomes of the MES activities and future plans to school principals and teachers.

In order to ensure the quality education, with the support of Georgian government,  MES successfully  implemented numerous initiatives including a developing a new school curriculum, introducing new subjects, enhancing  learning of foreign languages and IT technologies, launching of a new system of students assessment , improving teacher professional development , upgrading school infrastructure , etc.  The teachers expressed their thoughts and they had an opportunity to get the answers to their questions directly from the Minister.

The Minister, Deputy Ministers and the Heads of Legal Entities of Public Law under the ministry regularly hold similar meetings; these meetings will be also organized in the future.

Report on the ongoing and planned activities always causes public interest and encourage their participation in educational process.
