Civil Activity Support Program is being implemented by MES in cooperation with the British Organization Children’s High Level Group. Nowadays, 45 public schools and 45 schools for the Children With Special Needs are involved in the program.
Public School coordinators of different regions of Georgia were trained. They organize permanent clubs (dancing, music, art, computer technologies and sports) for the schoolchildren/students of Public Schools and vulnerable children, refugees, Children With Special Needs, representatives of ethnic minorities in order to integrate/socialize and cooperate.
On November 27, competition on the topic My Everyday Activities was held in Ilia State University. During the year, presentations on community initiatives were held by the representatives of different social classes and abilities, refugees, displaced persons during 2008 Russian-Georgian war, adults from Ozurgeti Municipality, Daba Nasakirali and the village of Tianeti, Samtredia Municipality, gipsy adults from Rustavi and Kutaisi, Dedoplistskaro. Commission established for identifying winners, selected initiatives according to the following criteria:
• Problems, introduced by the educational institution and new initiatives;
• Quality of intersectional collaboration (governmental, NGO, private);
• Qualitative as well as quantitative characteristics of community mobilization.
Authors of distinguished events were encouraged with prizes. Each initiative was designed to advance competition and self-evaluation of adults of different social classes and abilities.
