Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini along with the state officials and representatives of international organizations attended the conference dedicated to an International Day of Disabled Persons.
Ongoing policy and programs that are being implemented in accordance with the Action Plan of the Limited Abilities were discussed at the conference. Presentation of the programs focused on the needs of disabled persons and their rights was held as well. Photos, video and other materials of the disabled persons were exhibited at the conference.
MES has been implementing integration of the Children With Special Needs at public schools since 2004. The top priority of MES is to give equal possibilities to the children in order to participate in the education process. It is reflected in the amendments in law, development of the modern methodology and adaptation of the school environment.
The conference was held in the scope of the program, financed by USAID, with the support of MES. Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia organized the conference.
