By the initiative of MES, the President and Executive Director of Texas International Education Consortium, Ronald Aqua is paying an official visit to Georgia.

In the frame of the visit, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini met Mr. Aqua. Aim of the meeting was to deepen cooperation between Georgian Higher Educational Institutions and 32 Universities of an Association. Issue of establishing Black Sea Technical University was discussed at the meeting as well.

Texas International Education Consortium was established in 1985. Currently, 32 Universities are unified in it.

The consortium cooperates worldwide in such in-demand fields, as education, IT, health and environment.  During the collaboration, FIEC focuses on student mobility, capacity building and global positioning.

Association of the Universities provides not only famous programs, but manages the research center and institute, implements training programs and public policy. Following programs operate in Texas International Education Consortium: business administration and management, public administration, engineering and energy sciences, environment and sustainable development, medicine, English as the second language.  Consortium supports development of institutional partnership, sharing academic expertise and research resources. It supports the member Universities to create the programs, that strengthen partnership worldwide and is competitive in an international field.

Ronald Aqua, who managed International Security and Strategic Research Center of Mississippi International University before the Consortium, developed the programs of International Policy studies, activity of public policy and public engagement.

During the meeting with the Minister, Doctor Aqua promised assistance in developing efficient programs.
