Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini introduced three-person group of the Resource Officers at Rustavi Public School №21.

In parallel with this school, Resource Officers launched their activities in the schools №1, №2, №3, №4, №5, №6, №7, №8 and №9. They will enter in all schools of Rustavi step by step.

According to the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini, introducing of the Resource Officers in the Public Schools is finished in 2010.

They will commence their activities in the schools step by step from 2011.

In order to keep schools safe, Resource Officers started working in Tbilisi, Batumi, Zugdidi, Gori, Kutaisi and Poti Public Schools from the new academic year.

Three-person group, including one woman, passed trainings in the Police Academy in the scope of the Safe School program. They fully mastered conflict solving skills. Duty of the Resource Officers is to prevent crime and provide the children with any kind of aid. They are not allowed to punish the children, they should care for the safety of the students.

Resource Officers, equipped with the uniform and communication devices, will be distributed in the special rooms. Aim of the new initiative being implemented in the frame of the Safe School concept is to care for the safety of the schoolchildren.
