The final round of the competition The Best Linguist was held in Kutaisi Public School №17. 18 participants from Zestaponi, Samtredia, Zugdidi, Kobuleti and Kutaisi took part in it. Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Irine Kurdadze, education expert of the U.S. Embassy to Georgia, Ben Pellegrom and Mayor of Kutaisi Giorgi Tevdoradze observed the competition and participated in the award ceremony. Deputy Minister held a working meeting with around 300 teachers of Kutaisi. Irine Kurdadze represented to them 2010 report of the implemented reforms, spoke about the future plans and answered their questions.
Innovative online competition The Best Linguist is being held for the second year by Kutaisi Public School №17, along with English Language Department of Tsereteli State University with the support of MES. Partner of the competition is U.S. Embassy to Georgia, Kutaisi Resource Centers, local self-governance and ProCreditBank.
All participants were interviewed online through the Skype. This round of the competition was called Skype Round. Above activity simplified participation of the regional schoolchildren in the competition. Participants had to choose one of the listed topics, create blog and send the link on moazrovne@17school.ge in the final round Blog. Finalists represented interesting versions.
In the scope of the event, guests visited gyms that were rehabilitated by MES in 2010.
