By the decision of MES, modern school will be constructed in the village of Zhakhunderi for 100 children. It will be opened in 2011 new academic year.

Director of Education and Science Infrastructure Development Agency of MES, Irakli Todua visited the school of Zhakhunderi, Lentekhi region. According to Irakli Todua, construction of the new school is being  held considering the local climate and environment conditions of Svaneti. Only natural stones and wood will be used for the construction. At this level, the foundation of the school is already built.

School of the village of Zhakhunderi was one of the first educational institutions of Svaneti. Many public figures, scientists and artists studied there. The school was damaged due to the relief and landslide and  construction of the new school was necessary.

Before the construction of the school, similar school was built in the village of Mleta in 2010. According to the same technology, the school will be constructed in the village of Mukhura as well.
