Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini and Director of the National Examination Center, Maia Miminoshvili held a briefing on 2011 National Education Olympiad.
For the first time in 2011, the first selection round of the Olympiad was held at schools by the resource-centers. The second and the third rounds will be carried out by the National Examination Center.
In 2011, the second round of the National Olympiad was held in informatics, on January 9, at 12:00 pm, at Public School №166. 386 schoolchildren took part in it.
The second round of Olympiad will be held in 91 schools of the cities of Georgia and regional centers and around 85,000 schoolchildren will participate in it.

1,600 best schoolchildren, identified in each subject and age group will participate in the third round of the National Education Olympiad that will be held in March.
National Education Olympiad is carried out every year in the following subjects: Georgian language and literature, mathematics, foreign languages, history, geography, physics, chemistry, biology, informatics.
Olympiad takes place in 3 rounds in Georgian, as well as in Armenian, Azerbaijanian and Russian languages. 10 winners of the final round will be included in the National team in order to take part in an international Olympiad.
