Resource officers visited Samtredia #15 Boarding School for Children with Special Educational Needs and congratulated the schoolchildren and school staff on the New Year. They also conferred the schoolchildren with gifts.

Within the frame of the event, schoolchildren and resource officers got involved in joint activities such as singing and poem reciting. The Office of School Resource Officers will arrange many interesting activities in the future as well.

According to the resource officers, their main goal is to ensure the safety of schoolchildren, teachers and school staff.

20 boys (from 11- to 16 years old) live in Samtredia #15 boarding school for Children with Special Educational Needs. The school environment is adapted to the requirements of Children with Special Educational Needs. The school is operating on the basis of the boarding school from 4^th to 9^th grades. In case of necessity, there is an option of opening primary classes from 1^st and 3d grades.

In order to keep schools safe, Resource Officers commenced their activities in the Public Schools of Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Zugdidi, Poti, Gori and Rustavi from the new academic year.

Resource Officers’ duty is to prevent conflicts and provide the schoolchildren with any kind of aid. They are not allowed to punish the schoolchildren. They are responsible to care for the safety of the schoolchildren. 

New initiative that is being implemented in the frame of the Safe School program, envisages giving parents a full guarantee of their children’s safety.
