In 2011, upon their choice, all certified teachers will have opportunity to take English Language and Computers Exam, overcome a minimum competency level in language and computer skills and get additional salary. The exam will be organized under the supervision of Ministry’s National Examinations Center. Minister Dimitri Shashkini and Director of National Examinations Center Maia Miminoshvili held a briefing on this issue.
Teachers will take an integrated exam in English Language and Computer Skills. The exam tests both English language proficiency and computer skills and is computer based.
Candidates shall posses English Language proficiency at pre- intermediate level – this level fully matches the requirement of European Council for level of foreign language competence A2+ and Key English Test of Cambridge University.
There are both content analysis and technical tasks in the test. While handling with the technical tasks the candidates shall have basic knowledge in Microsoft Office, Windows XP and Outlook.
During a test a candidates can use internet resources: dictionaries, search systems, etc.
Detailed Information about the procedures on the exam will be posted on the web sites of Ministry (www.mes.gov.ge) and National Examinations Center (www.naec.ge).
The exam will be held in April 2011; registration for the exam will begin from February 10 and will last till March 20 at the educational resource centers.
