“Kids’ University” under Tbilisi State University started giving seminars outside Tbilisi. Professors of Tbilisi State University visited public school №3 of Tserovani and gave a lecture to schoolchildren. The event was attended by Deputy Minister Nodar Surguladze, Deputy Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia Andria Chulukhadze and Rector of Tbilisi State University Aleksandre Kvitashvili.
Professor of Tbilisi State University Vakhtang Licheli gave a lecture on “Georgians and their ancient culture”. The topic of Professor Ramaz Lomsadze’s lecture was “Physical processes around us – electromagnetic waves and sounds”
Such seminars are the part of the two stage project of Tbilisi State University, which is supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia.
The first stage of the project entails Tbilisi State University professors’ visits to 8 IDP villages and giving lectures to schoolchildren on the topics they are interested in. The second stage of the project involves organizing excursion of IDP schoolchildren to Tbilisi State University.
The project “Kids’ University” is implemented on the basis of Tbilisi State University. The aim of the project is to raise education and research skills among schoolchildren and to rouse their interest for modern technologies and basic sciences.
Within the framework of the project, the schoolchildren will attend lectures in History, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Economics and Natural Science.
