Minister Awarded the Winners of International Olympiad

Minister of Education and Science Dimitri Shashkini presented the personal computers to the winners of the 7th international Zhautikov Olimpiad 2011 held in Kazakhstan.

Team of Tbilisi boarding school of Physics and Mathematics “ Komarovi “ participated in international Olympiad  in Mathematics, Physics and Informatics  held in Almaty . Georgian schoolchildren won in group and individual competitions:

  • Nika Begiashvili  (12th grader)- Bronze Medal in Informatics;
  • Grigol Peradze  (12the grader) - Bronze Medal in Physics;
  • Giga Gumberidze (12the grader) - Bronze Medal in Mathematics;
  • Bachana Kutsia (12the grader)- Bronze Medal in Mathematics;
  • Jimsher Skhirtladze ( tenth grader) - Bronze Medal in Informatics;

As to the group competition, the Georgian team took the fourth place.

This year, 46 teams and 296 individual contestants took part in the 7th international Zhautikov Olympiad.

According to Minister Shashkini, the ministry will continue to support the gifted and successful schoolchildren in the future as well.
