First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Akaki Sepherteladze and the Director of National Center of Manuscripts Buba Kudava held a briefing on the Georgian Calligraphy Competition.
The competition is jointly organized by the Ministry and National Center of Manuscripts with the partnerships of other stakeholders and it aims at promoting calligraphy among the youth.
The contest has been organized for the second time. Last year, only schoolchildren participated in the competition, this year students and other adults including emigrants got engaged in the competition.
His Holiness and Beatitude Catholicos Patriarch of all Georgia Ilia II consecrated the competition.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia has allocated 6 000 GEL for the prizes. Therefore, the winners will be awarded with certificates and one -time cash prizes.
The final round of the competition will be held on April 14 on the day of Georgian language, before that the contestants have to pass 3 rounds. At first stage, the applicants have to submit their works at the National Center of Manuscripts before February 18.
