Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini is paying an official visit to Great Britain. In the scope of the visit Minister visited Georgian Sunday School in London and attended Georgian language lesson and presented Georgian textbooks to schoolchildren.

By announcement of Dimitri Shashkini, the Ministry of Education and Science will continue to cooperate with Georgian Sunday Schools abroad.

First Georgian school has been functioning in Great Britain since 2002. This school has long been the first Georgian Sunday School in Europe. There are 130 schoolchildren and 7 teachers in the school. The school regularly organizes the trainings for its teachers. A kindergarten is also functioning at the school.

Georgian Sunday School was founded in 2002 with the financial support Liana Jikia-Gogrichiani and Vakhtang Gogrichiani.
