School Resource Officers in Gori visited the family of Jimsher Toroshelidze – a soldier who died in the War of 2008. They congratulated his wife Natela Gogidze on International Women’s Day and presented her with the gifts. Jimsher Toroshelideze was one of those soldiers who died in the War of 2008, he had three children.
Resource officers also visited the families of 14 soldiers, who died in the War of 2008, congratulated their wives on March 8th and presented them with some sweets and food.
School Resource officers will take part in charity events in the future as well; they stand ready to help any family who is in need of their assistance.
In order to keep schools safe, Resource Officers commenced their activities in the public schools of Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Zugdidi, Poti, Gori and Rustavi.
Resource Officers’ duty is to prevent conflicts and ensure the safety of the schoolchildren, teachers and school staff. They are not allowed to punish the schoolchildren.
New initiative that is being implemented in the frame of the Safe School program, envisages giving parents a full guarantee of their children’s safety.
