In the scope of the project “Safe and Healthy School” a presentation was held at Tbilisi Public School № 1. The event was attended by His Holiness and Beatitude Catholicos Patriarch of all Georgia Ilia II, the First Lady of Georgia Sandra E. Reolofs, the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Koka Sepherteladze and the representatives of UNICEF and the Ministry of Health and Labor of Georgia.
The presentation-lesson was given to the 10 year old schoolchildren, the topics covered during the lesson include: alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, eating, safe driving. All these topics are the components of “Safe and Healthy School” project.
The lesson was given by the First Lady, the project coordinator and director and famous sportsmen. During the lesson they used audio and visual materials, internet. The schoolchildren discussed with the “teachers” the problems that society is facing now not only in Georgia but in other countries of the world.
At the end of the lesson the schoolchildren signed the appeal to the government of Georgia on establishing the national day for “Safe and Healthy School”.
