Juvenile Crime Prevention Campaign was Launched

The Georgian Prosecutor’s office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia launched a joint campaign to prevent the juvenile crime. Within the scope of this campaign, Georgian Prosecutor Murtaz Zodelava and the Minister of Education and Science Dimitri Shashkini visited Tbilisi #51 public school and discussed the main priorities with high school students, parents and teachers. The participants focused on the following issues: providing a safe school environment, the coordinating efforts of the law enforcement bodies and educational institutions with regard to providing a safe environment at schools, the role of a family and society in raising awareness on importance of forming law abiding high school students.

The film made by the joint support of the Minister of Education and Science and the General Prosecutor’s office was also shown in public school #51. The film features indifference of the family and society towards carrying a weapon, as a result of which a student turns into a victim and convict at the same time.

A contest was announced in school #51 to reveal the best slogan in this respect. The campaign will last for a year.

Within the framework of the juvenile crime prevention campaign, lectures on legal issues, various contests and discussions will be organized throughout  the whole year.
