First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Koka Sepherteladze observed the proceeding of public schools’ principals Contest. Ministry’s National Center for Teacher Professional Development will administer this contest till April 4. Up to 3000 candidates from Tbilisi and regions will participate in it.
Public schools’ principals contest will be held in 2 rounds: Testing and Interview. Each day, 4 groups of contestants take the computer test. 16 observers monitor the process of testing. Electronic registration of the participants took place from February 25 till March 20.
Those candidates, who pass the two rounds, will be granted special certificates and will obtain the right of working as a school principal for 7 years. Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia will nominate these candidates for the vacant places at public schools; each candidate will be selected by the school Board members.
For the first time, public schools’ principals contest is held on the basis of school principals’ standard and computer testing appliances. Participation in the contest is voluntary.
