New Professional Standards in the Field of Tourism

The Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Irine Kurdadze and the Head of National Tourism Agency Maia Sidamonidze introduced the new professional standard to the public.
The working group has approved eight professional standards and each of them will be taught at different levels of professional education:
• Guide
• Tour operator
• Cook
• Pastry cook
• Receptionist
• Barman
• Restaurant Management
• Hotel Management
According to the new standard the length of study program will be defined by the professional education institutions.
The standard was created jointly by the National Center for Education Quality Enhancement and the Georgian National Tourism Agency. The representatives of the higher and professional education institutions, potential employers and experts worked on the standard.
