02.02.2010
The President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili opened public school №3 in Borjomi that was refurbished in compliance with the modern standards. The school hosts around 720 students. The President of Georgia was shown paintings and essays created by the students under the project “Russian Aggression in my Eyes”. The Ministry of Education and Science announced this contest on January 30 under the scope of the” Occupation Week” reflecting the Russian-Georgian war.

Borjomi public school №3 was destroyed in 2005 and its renovation began in 2008 but this process was hampered by the Russian aggression in Georgia in 2008. The refurbishment of the school was jointly undertaken by the Georgian government and the World Bank with the cost of 3.5 mln GEL.  Currently the school is equipped with all necessary utilities, including 22 computers, a laboratory, indoor playground, meeting room and library.

The school is specifically modified for the children with special educational needs: the elevator operates specially for them along with the specially arranged entrances.  The school yard has been decorated.  The electronic, water and sewer systems have also been set up. The autonomic heating and ventilation systems have also been installed.
