First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Koka Sepherteladze and Director of National Examinations Center Maia Miminoshvili held a briefing on school leaving exams at the media center of the exams.

From May 23, school leaving exams will begin at all public and private schools of Georgia. At 9 a.m all schoolchildren will simultaneously start taking the exam in Georgian Language and Literature.

 All schools have an access to internet and schoolchildren pass the exams with the use of the identical netbooks.

Exams will be held in the format of the CAT; the algorithm of the CAT was developed at National Examinations Center.

The exams are held in 8 subjects: Georgian Language and Literature, Foreign Languages (upon choice); Math, History, Geography, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Ethnic minority schoolchildren take exams in their own native languages.

All schoolchildren received exam cards at their own schools. The schoolchildren got acquainted with the exam instructions.  They are allowed to bring exam card, ID card and pen at the exams; they can also take personal hygiene item (napkin) and water.

3 345 observers  will be monitoring the process of the exams. They have been assigned by the Ministry’s National Examinations Center.
