25.05.2011
First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Koka Sepherteladze attended the matches organized within the frame of the “School Ball” at “Irao” Stadium. Best 5 teams have been selected today and they will be participating in the final round of the competition to be held in Batumi in the end of June.

To promote a healthy life style, football leagues were formed at public schools of Georgia and football championships started to be organized among the schools. This was made possible as a result of replacement of the physical culture lessons with the sports classes in 2010. Up to 11 sports league were set up.  This encouraged the schoolchildren to follow an active and healthy life style.

Organizing school football championships will improve schoolchildren’s skills in sports; it will also promote popularization of Georgian football.
