First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Koka
Seperteladze held a
meeting with B.A and M.A students at Iv. Javakhisvili Tbilisi State
University. Mr. Dimitri Shashkini presented them a new state program
“Georgian Language for Future Success”.
The goal of the program is to enhance the knowledge of Georgian language at non-Georgian schools in Kvemo Kartli, Samtskhe-Javakheti and Kakheti regions. Participants of the project will teach school subjects in Georgian language along with the local teachers.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia will finance M.A studies of the B.A participants of the program and will offer them a monthly salary.
The program participants will provide assistance to the local teachers of non-Georgian schools in conducting the learning process bilingually and /or teaching Georgian language. The participants will spend one academic year at these schools and will take a pre-service intensive training before commencing their activities. During the training, participants will acquire pedagogical skills, learn how to teach in pairs and conduct the lessons bilingually.
