Golden Medals for Successful Schoolchildren

In the scope of program on supporting most talented youngsters, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini awarded 231 successful school graduates with Golden Medals.
One of the most important components of the education process is the raise of motivation in schoolchildren. Encouragement of schoolchildren’s academic achievement increases their motivation to study.
By the initiative of the President, Ministry o Education and Science of Georgia implements the program of Awarding Successful Schoolchildren with Medals. In the scope of the program 877 schoolchildren were awarded with golden medal and 1122 schoolchildren with silver medals in 2010-2011.
The criteria of identifying the most successful schoolchildren are regulated by the National Curriculum. In 2010-2011 schoolchildren received the golden and silver medals with their names and date on it.
