Teachers’ Certification Examinations Have Started

First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Koka Sepherteladze visited examination center at Georgian Technical University and observed the proceeding of Teachers’ Certification Examinations in Professional Skills.

The agenda of examinations is as follows:

  • Professional Skills – July 6-7-8
  • Exams for the teachers of primary level – July 11
  • History – July 11
  • Chemistry – July 11
  • Biology – July 14
  • Physics –July 15
  • Civil Defense – July 15
  • Georgian Language and Literature – July 18
  • Geography – July 18
  • Mathematics – July 19
  • German, French, English and Russian – July 20-21

Exam in Professional Skills will last for five hours. Registration in 14 examination centers throughout Georgia has started at 8 am and exam itself has begun at 9am. Maximum number of points is 70; minimum competency level is 43 points. 24 000 teachers are registered for Teachers’ Certification Examinations. 


Certified teachers will get 75 GEL as a bonus to their salaries. If the teachers pass exams in English language and Computer Skills their salaries will increase up to 200 GEL. The salaries of those teachers who will have best results in certification exams and who have already passed exams in English Language and Computer Skills will equal to gross 1000 GEL. Certified teachers will have opportunity to work as a mentor teacher and take part in different educational programs initiated by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
