Unified National Exams and Teacher Certification Exams of 2011 are over. Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini held a summarizing briefing on the exams.
According to Minister, Unified National Exams, Graduate Record Examinations for MA candidates and Teacher Certification exams were carried out successfully, the exams at all exam centers were held in a quiet environment as no technical problems have been detected, all parties involved in the process were adequately mobilized.
Judging from the results of the General Ability Test, one can state that this year, compared to the previous year, the entrants have been better prepared for the exams. High scores of the exams are conditioned by improved learning quality at schools and introducing new educational projects at general educational institutions. More entrants select Natural Sciences as their field of studies; hence, there is a high competition among the students in this direction. Higher professional programs also became more popular among the entrants.
Compared to the last year, this year twice as many teachers participated in the Teacher Certification Exams. The teachers had opportunity to get better prepared for the exams this year, as the Ministry organized subject trainings for them. Overall, up to 30 000 teachers were trained.
Today entrants took an exam in Physics, the foreign language teachers passed oral exam in respective languages. The Teacher Certification Exams in foreign language was carried out with a help of the computer program developed by National Examinations Center under Ministry in 2010. The exam comprised 5 parts: writing, reading comprehension, methodology, listening and oral ones.
The process of correction of the works of university entrants, teachers and MA candidates is underway at National Examinations Center via electronic system.
The results of the exam in General Ability test will be known by July 22. Gradually, other exams’ outcomes will be also disclosed and posted on the web sites of National Examinations Center: www.naec.ge; online.naec.ge. The participants of the exams can check their works and scores via special search system.
