Principals of the Successful Schools have been awarded with Cash Prizes

Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini, as entrusted by the Prime Minister of Georgia Nika Gilauri, handed over cash prizes with an amount of 2000 GEL to 20 principals of those schools in Tbilisi and regions of Georgia that showed the best results in school graduation exams.

Mr. Nika Gilauri made an announcement on awarding the school principals with cash prices on July 1 during his meeting with the principals at State Chancellery. Prime Minister thanked the principals for the outcomes of their schools’ students in the school graduation exams.

The twelfth graders took exams in the format of the CAT system with the computers, organized at 1520 public and private schools of Georgia. Majority of the schoolchildren showed good results in the exams.

Eight-day-long exam process was carried out without complications as a result of the complex measures taken by the Ministry. 30 % of the school graduates showed a high level of knowledge at the exam; 5 % out of them - got the highest points.

The exams were held in 8 subjects: Georgian Language and Literature, Foreign Languages (upon choice); Math, History, Geography, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The first exam was organized in Georgian Language and Literature on May 23 and the last one was held on June 1 in Math. Ethnic minority schoolchildren take exams in their own native languages.
