Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Nodar Surguladze visited the site that has been chosen to construct a new school in the village of Khajalia, Lanchkhuti.
The village of Khajalia is basically populated by the residents from mountainous Adjara. The old building of the Khajalia School is damaged and 220 schoolchildren have been studying in shifts. Renovating works of the building had not been carried out so far.
New school will be constructed on a new site – right now the school is located nearby the railway and auto road which does not meet the international standards of school construction. Up to 250 schoolchildren will have opportunity to study at the new school.
This year, 14 school students graduated from Khajalia School, 12 out of them passed the exams and 8 participated in the Unified National Exams. One of the school students got the highest scores in the school graduation exams and is among the most successful students in the Lanchkhuti Municipality. The village school has a certified teacher as well.
The new building of the school will be equipped with modern technical equipments; it will have school laboratory, library, computer class and sports hall.
