One group of Georgian schoolchildren is back to Georgia from United Kingdom where they took oart in two-week intensive English language summer schools. Overall 32 schoolchildren, in 4 groups will go to Great Britain. They have been selected out of those 600 schoolchildren who had showed the best results in school Olympiads.
Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia implements English Language Learning Strengthening Program through two sub-programs: English-language summer schools in Georgia and English-language summer schools in the United Kingdom.
The program English-language summer schools in Georgia comprises of arranging three-week English-language summer schools for 9th, 10th and 11th graders. They are selected on the basis of the results they get at different school subject Olympiads and various school-related competitions along with the certain knowledge of the English Language. The best 32 schoolchildren out of 600 participating in the English language summer school at Buckswood have been selected to be sent to United Kingdom in 4 groups for taking part in two-week intensive English language summer schools there.
While spending summer at Buckswood summer school schoolchildren deepen their knowledge of English language. Along with Georgian counterparts volunteer teachers of the program “Teach and Learn with Georgia” also work at summer school.
All activities at summer school are oriented on development of intellectual and physical abilities of the children.
As First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Koka Sepherteladze stated the Ministry will continue to organize such programs, in order to raise schoolchildren’s motivation to study well and to take part in school Olympiads.
