Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini awarded 10 teachers with best results in Certification Examinations 2011 with portable computers.

Teachers Certification Exams 2011 went successfully. This year 2500 teachers will obtain certificates. Last year the number of certified teachers was 1200.

Teachers Certification Exams are voluntary and teachers have the right to take either one or two exams. This year 5000 teachers passed exams in Professional Skills. 4000 teachers passed exams in their subjects. Next year these teachers will have to take only one exam. By 2014 about 60% of teachers will be certified.

Certified teachers will get 75 GEL as a bonus to their salaries. If the teachers pass exams in English language and Computer Skills their salaries will increase up to 200 GEL. The salaries of those teachers who will have best results in certification exams and who have already passed exams in English Language and Computer Skills will equal to gross 1000 GEL.

Certified teachers will also have opportunity to work as a mentor teacher and take part in different educational programs initiated by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
