For the first time in Georgia, 60000 net-books will be presented to 1st graders and their teachers. The process of providing net-books to Public Schools of Tbilisi and regions has started. Today 15000 net-books have been sent to Samtskhe-Javakheti, Shida
Kartli and Kakheti regions and to Didgori.
Net-books are produced in Georgia by the companies “Algorithm” and “Intel”. The companies will guarantee the provision of net-books to schools by post.
Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini visited the computer company and observed the process of loading net-books in containers. All schools will be provided with net-books by the beginning of the academic year.
As Minister stated, in this world of modern technologies, computerization and internet, availability of the modern technologies for the children is essential for their right development. On the initiative of the President of Georgia, net-book “Buki” has been produced. School programs and cognitive games are installed in the net-book and it has internet access.
In order to effectively integrate net-books in education process, teachers have passes special trainings. As the result of the trainings, teachers are able to prepare lessons and education projects using the information technologies (ICT).
