Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia developed Georgian language textbook for primary level. The students of non - Georgian schools will study Georgian language with this book. Minister Dimitri Shashkini presented the newly developed textbook to the teachers and the journalist. Till the end of 2011, textbooks will be developed for Ist   to 6st levels. During 2012, the textbooks will be elaborated for all levels of basic and secondary education.

State program “Georgian Language for Future Success” is being implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science upon the initiative of the President of Georgia.  Various activities are being carried out in the scope of this program which are aimed at enhancing learning of the state language among non -Georgian population. One of the activities is to develop the relevant handbooks.

The above mentioned textbook was designed according to the modern teaching and learning standards and interactive methods of teaching the language.
The textbook is accompanied by audio visual materials and computer games. These materials will be posted on the web site www.buki.ge  and installed in the netbboks of first graders.
