In the scope of the programme on Supporting Gifted and Talented Youth, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Irine Kurdadze and Governor of Mtskheta-Mtianeti region Tsezar Chocheli awarded golden and silver medals to successful schoolchildren of the region.
In total there are 10 golden medals and 17 silver medals holders Mtskheta-Mtianeti region. Awarding ceremony took part in Tserovani Public School №3.
In the initiative of the President of Georgia, the Ministry of Education and Science implements “Sub-programme for Awarding the Best students with Medals”. In the frame of this program, in total, 877 golden and 1122 silver medals were prepared for 2010-2011 academic year.
There are 85 public schools in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region. Most of them have been rehabilitated by the Ministry. The schools have been provided with new inventories.
The schools of the region will receive 1015 first graders this year. Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia will provide them with net-book “Buki”.
