Minister Dimitri Shashkini, Public Ombudsman Giorgi Tughushi, and the UE Ambassador to Georgia, Philip Dimitrov, distributed awards to the winners of the contest “I am an Ombudsmen.”
Tinatin Aslamazishvili and Tamar Nozadze, students of Tbilisi public school №112, took the first place; the second place went to students of Tbilisi public school №173, Ekaterine Janiashvili and Diana Endeladze; the schoolchildren of Surami public school №1, Sopho Kachidze and Eka Goglidze and the students of Village of Gogni, Terjola Kakha and Giorgi Bregvadze won the third place.
The contest “I am an Ombudsmen” is administrated by the Public Ombudsmen’s office and is aimed at raising awareness of civic education among Georgian schoolchildren. It was organized with the support of Ministry of Education and Science and financed by the EU project.
The contest was carried out with the use of Information Technologies.
Registration for the contest started on June 1 , 2011, and overall 329 teams have been registered from different regions and cities of Georgia.
The competition was arranged in two rounds and was followed by a final tour. The independent jury assessed the works presented in the scope of the contest. In the end, the jury selected three best teams.
