The construction of the school started in 2010 and finished last month. 250 schoolchildren will study in the new school built in compliance with modern standards. A school laboratory has been equipped by the Einstein science program. The school also has a computer lab and library. All first-graders of the school have been presented with net-books.

The previous school building was destroyed by an earthquake in the 1980s. The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia decided to construct a new, state-of-the-art school in Puta. Money for construction of the new school was allocated from the central budget, a regional development fund and the budget of Zestaponi municipality.
