Minister Dimitri Shashkini and Mayor of Tbilisi Gigi Ugulava presented Lenovo personal computers to 200 tenth graders of Tbilisi public schools. These schoolchildren were awarded for their successful performance at the basic level of education.
This project is being implemented as part of the President’s program: “My first Computer” and aims at encouraging the schoolchildren to excell and supporting the integration of ICT technologies in their learning process.
For the first time this year, the schoolchildren were awarded computers produced in Georgia's new computer factory.
For the remainder of 2011, the beneficiaries of the mentioned project will be those schoolchildren who have successfully completed their studies at basic level.
The Ministry is planning to continue this program in the future as well.
