The world celebrates Students’ International Day on November 17

In relation to Students’ International Day, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia met with students and professors of Higher Educational Institutions. During the meeting Minister talked about innovations taking place in the framework of the Educational Reform and put emphasizes on the planned and implemented projects in the field of higher education.

The Ministry’s one of the main priorities is to develop Higher Educational Institutions and support students and teachers.

In recent years particular attention is paid to compliance of Higher Educational Institutions to European standards, educational quality enhancement, introduction of international standards and modern technologies, establishment of technological parks, introduction of requested professions to labor market. Awareness of the English language has become mandatory. Teaching of precise and natural science has enhanced.  Technological University will be opened in Batumi, with main direction in the fields of engineering, informational technologies and agriculture.

Georgian Educational Area is very attractive for foreign students. More than 2 000 foreign students study in Georgia in frames of mobility program. Our students as well have opportunity to study at outstanding universities of the world. The Ministry is implementing Masters Program, in the frames of which funds are disbursed to study priority specialties abroad. The bachelors involved in the state program “Georgian language for future success” who teach school subjects to the pupils in the ethnical minority areas in Georgian, the state fully (100%) covers their tuition fees for MA course. Social Grants are available for the students along with employment opportunities, etc…
