A memorandum of understanding was concluded between Rustaveli National Science Foundation and Jülich Research Centre to support cooperation among both research institutions and their scientists. The document was signed by the General Director of the Shota Rustaveli Science Foundation, Mr. Sulkhan Sisauri, and representative of the director’s council of the German research center Julich, Prof. Sebastian Schmidt.
The mentioned agreement envisages the involvement of Georgian scientists in research activities carried out in the Julich Center. In this regard, Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation will administer a contest that will enable the Georgian scientists and researchers to receive necessry research grants.
The memorandum also encompasses the implementation of joint educational and scientific programs.
Mr. Sulkhan Sisauri stated that cooperation with the leading European scientific institutions will increase the Georgian scientific potential, upgrade the qualification of Georgian researchers and boost the process of integration of Georgian scientists and researchers into the international scientific community.
