Minister Dimitri Shashkini Paid a Visit to the Vocational Education & Training Center in Kachreti

According to the Minister’s decision, the dormitory of Kachreti vocational education and training center will be fully renovated before the beginning of the next academic year. As a result of these construction works, around 300 students will have an opportunity to live in the environment that will be in compliance with international standards. Nowadays, because of the bad conditions, only 80 students live in Kachreti dormitory.

During his visit in Kachreti vocational education and training center, the Minister Shashkini rewarded best students with gifts and certificates.

Kachreti vocational education center was opened in 2007 and is currently the only vocational education and training center in Kakheti region, which is refurbished and equipped with modern technologies. Besides vocational education and training programs, there are additional training courses for adults and informational-consultative activities for farmers of 5 regions, which are financed by UNDP.

Following programs are carried out at Kachreti professional education and training centre: Master of agro-tourism, winemaker–winegrower, multi profile construction worker, carpenter-furniture maker, user and operator of the personal computer, technician-operator of informational technologies, metal craftsman of auto cars, vet, stylist, baby sitter, master of the healing flora cultivation, electrician, driver, farmer, handyman .

616 students passed additional training courses in 2009 and 80% of them have been employed.
